Since you performed a service they requested - and to their specific order - it's not like they have a legitimate case. Then again, a TV court might be sympathetic; fortunate for you, TV courts are just for entertainment and you won't legally be required to pay them even a single penny if they win. You should be fine.
unless he has it in writing he can't prove they told him the wrong tree, they could lie and say they said the other tree and he would have no way to prove that they didn't, whereas they could back each other up.
Actually, they will get their money. See, when they appear on the show, each player is given a certain amount (Usually either $2000 or $5000). When they finish up, they'll get the $x000 minus the judgment (if they lost) or plus the judgment (if they won). Now, I could be wrong, and instead of $2000/$5000 each, they have to originally split that $2000/5000, but yeah... either way they get the money. Neither side loses money either.
Catatonicsleep, it's the other way round: They would have to proof that they told him to cut down another tree.
Don't worry they'lle be dead soon anyway. They might not even make it to the court date!
LMAO!! Good point!
WIN. lmao
That is such a stupid comment!! Elderly people have feelings and emotions too. What if it had been your grandparents? What if the person who cut down the tree misunderstood them and it WAS his/her fault? What if someday when you are old and you and your wife have a special place and someone destroys it. How will you feel? Put yourself in someone else's shoes and quit being greedy and egotistic.
Does anyone have a spare sense of humour? I think #95 needs one
maybe you shoudn't have chopped down some random tree. YOUR FAULT. and when they sue you, you'll lose. not to be mean, but it's just what'll happen.
And now you're stuck living next to old people with a defective / selective memory. Be prepared to "stand corrected" often because the best thing you can do is try and be polite since keeping a voice recorder at the ready is unrealistic. :/ FYL
Settle out of court by paying them cash!
i think you were setup. should try and counter sue.
Their fault for not divorcing before.
STFU
learn to take a joke
It's their fault for asking you to cut down the wrong tree. Obviously they're old and senile. Hopefully the court will realize you were trying to be nice and do a favor for them and they're just old and crazy.
They got what they paid for. Don't feel bad, no judge will take their claim seriously.
Whos they gonna belive though some bloke young and dumb or a couple who managed to followed the moral laws of Gods Will and remained married! Exactly soo do the cheaper thing and settle out of court! Your elders ALWAYS wins last!

I feel bad for you but they told u to cut down that tree so it's not ur fault
why didn't they direct you to the correct tree, or better yet, supervise the tree cutting?
