Today, the heat rash that has been devouring my side for the last week was revealed to be something much worse: shingles. FML

btw you have to have gotten chicken pox or the vaccine in order to get shingles. that was the point of that ^

I had the same issue... thought it was a heat rash but ended up being shingles. Hope you have a mild case.

I had shingles just a few months ago, and I'm only 18. It really sucks, trust me. I went to the doctor sooner, though and got the meds just in time to stop it. If it's already been there a week and you haven't done anything about it, you're screwed. It will be itchy for months. FYL.

I had shingles when I was 13, in 8th grade. It hurt soooo bad..I had to sit out of PE and such because I couldn't turn my body without it hurting. It started on the middle of my back and went all the way down to the back of my legs.. :/

i had shingles before, still have a scar under my ear from it. hurt like hell. doctor gave me 1000 mg pills for it.

I had shingles two years ago, on my hip right where my jeans would sit. I had to wear nothing but dresses for a month, and I have scars that look like a bunch of white dots!):
