I work at a daycare with the preschoolers and I remember when this happened to us. The fire-alarm was above the cubbies and the child had climbed and pulled it. We had three teachers and approximately 24 kids. It was crazy. Long story short, we had to evacuate and the kid wrote an apology letter to the firefighters. And we got a cover for the fire-alarm lol.
Ok but she had only one, and also she ruined the other son's performance
You wouldn't happen to be a momma monkey who was trying to eat, would you? Amazing that you learned to type too.
This happened to me when my son was about 3. It was a low mounted “pull down” model, and he reached up (I remember it in slow motion yelling “Nooooo!”), hooked his fingers over it, and pulled down. We didn’t get in trouble but we did get a stern lecture. Look at “Honeywell FireLite BG-12S Single Action Manual Pull Station” on Amazon to see how it could easily happen.
you have to have chosen the dumbest spot to stand if your toddler could pull a fire alarm
Okay so I won't sit on my phone and judge you for your parenting skills, but I will tell you to keep in mind that that "busy" toddler has to grow up to be a functioning adult and YOU are responsible for that.
Those fire alarms are usually up pretty high on the wall. How did your toddler possibly reach it? And apparently you weren't watching him...
Great parenting!

Wow. How did a toddler reach the fire alarm?
So as the parent/legal guardian, do you pay the $500+ fine and 6 months in jail? You need to watch your child to make sure they don't get into trouble. A babysitter to watch the child at home costs less than the fine for pulling the fire alarm for no reason does. The good news is as a minor his criminal record will be sealed when he turns 18, unless he keeps the thug life up. (Doesn't impact employment, if they dig they can see it but cannot access whatever is in the record to see what he did).
