In her defense, Russia is certainly not the safest place in the world. It's probably a lot safer than Afghanistan, though...
My mom is the definition of overprotective, and she still let me go to Russia, yet I don't know why your going in February. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I did.
Hide the passport, the tickets and everything ells.
It is clear what you must do, you must spend years in training in Mongolia with the monks and then come home again as a new man/woman and then take the dog to be trained the the mongols like they train wolves, you and your dog now have the power, you must run to Russia, swimming or climbing anything in your way before stealing a lite aircraft and crashing it into your mothers quaint little suburban house, you and you dog will jump out seconds before landing and land majestically in front of your mother, then you command your dog to eat your mother, you stop him just before the deed is done and get your mother repaired and back to normal, then, as she is recovering, you ask her, was it really worth torturing that pour little passport just I stop you leaving? Finally, you get of the LSD
im just wondering who goes to russia for a vacation

Joke's on her, you'll have it back a few hours later ;)
I've heard of "the dog ate my homework.".. But, "the dog ate my passport" is taking it to a whole new level.
