I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up doing something like this with my new shiny Bachelor's degree, too.

Hey, it's up to you to find a job! You settled for the hot dog stand job.

Welcome to the world of Art History majors. Next time don't waste your parents money and go directly to flipping burgers (no one I knew in college who was paying their own way was majoring in something that didn't directly translate into a career).

Not an FML. Everyone has to start somewhere.

1.) A job is a job man. Sometimes we do things we shouldn't just to survive. 2.) As stated, our education system is in the john and it needs to be reformed. This is the reason I went back to school, maybe a Ph.D. will aid me in changing the below average "standards." 3.) Depending on what city you're in, being in a Hot Dog stand might not be all that bad man. Besides, it's a job someone has to do. 4.) Once the baby boomers retire, which they're heading that direction, then things will get better. Don't fret. 5.) No reason to brag about a prestigious University... I went to one too, it's really not that big of a deal, I promise.

The school doesn't help you find a job after graduation? I'm going to a state school and they're even doing that, but it could just be the sucky economy.

if your university is so prestigious, why can't you even bother to put the name?

Hey it's a start. I think we've all had to work crappy jobs. It'll be a funny story to tell your kids one day =)

"#7 - #3 is right. A university education now is what a high school education was to our parents. It's becoming the minimum that you need to find a career. Now it's becoming the standard to have higher education." But that doesn't mean a BA is "worthless", it merely points to the fact that more people now than ever attend college and get a 4 year degree. When supply rises, demand goes down. OP, I know plenty of recent graduates who are interning or working in their field, just keep plugging away.
