I can't stand that people act like she's committed some horrible sin for not being a size 2. If it's easy for all of you to be skinny, that's really awesome, but for some of us it's a real struggle. I've been fighting to stay a size 8 since I was in my early teens, because I just lost the genetic lottery and got a sucky metabolism. I don't stuff my face (I actually also have IBS, so I can't eat very greasy or rich things), and I'm very sensitive about because I can't stand when I'm feeling down about my weight and people act like I've made some conscious decision to not be a stick. That's not how it works. So shut the **** up. And OP, this guy is an ass, dump him. I'm lucky enough to have a cute boyfriend who doesn't like women with the physique of small boys. The one really awesome thing about not being a size 2: I have boobs. :D
Don't throw one body type under the bus just to make yourself feel better. Piting women against eachother over how much they weigh is never the answer.
This was depressing as a size 2 with a flat chest...
#12 kinda pissed me off a bit. I'm in a family full of thick women and I came out as "the stick" and I done necessarily like it because I have boobs the size of Africa. Just cause some girls are born with different genetics to make them smaller doesn't mean they necessarily like it either. I think being thick is beautiful and would love it. Also! As someone who's been in multiple surgeries being thick would have cut most of my recovery time in half. So don't make all the skinny girls sound like stuck up bitches.
11, I think that if he had said 'Oh, how many pounds are you going for?', it would have been fine. But insinuating that the girl needs to lose 40 or 50 pounds is no joke. That's a lot of weight and I personally would be a little annoyed as well. Even if I WERE that much overweight. It's not anyone's business but your own and your doctor's.
this is bad, but it took me a minute to understand what "reffered" meant... i thought it was some sort of new haircut that i missed. also, i agree with #13, why would he say 40 or 50 lbs, even if she was going to diet? most ppl have trouble losing that much anyways. he should have been more supportive.
I love how people say "you deserve it cuz you're like fat and stuff and you probably make yourself fat!" when it has been proven time and time again that a good portion of people are fat for genetic reasons that make it incredibly difficult to be a normal weight (Oprah, for example). It's not always their fault. Read up before you judge.
Yeah, #16 is right. People should not be judged by the way they look, but it is inevitable. At least your boyfriend, though rude, accepts you for who you are.
@16 So....you're saying that the reason obesity in the US adult population increased to 25% because of genetic reasons? I think that's bullshit
No, she was talking about herself. So stop trying to act like your understand you obviously don't. Most american are fat because of the junk food. Some are fat because it's genetic.
ouch!!
I agree with #1.
16, you are right for the most part, but oprah has gotten skinnier and then she cant stick to whatever diet got her there, she is fat cause she does not stay on diets that are effective for her. although yes for most people it is genetics, one of my fattest friends is also the healthiest person i know, but oprah was not the best example to use

That's when you respond with, "Actually, I meant dye-it, as in my hair. But you're right, I DO need to lose weight - about 250* lbs of it. In other words: it's over. Get.out." *or whatever boyfriend's weight is
