Today, while at my aunt's funeral, my grandma who has terrible memory loss asked me whose funeral we were at. I had to explain to her that her daughter had died. FML

That must have been a horrible thing to tell her.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can only hope the pain eases with time.

I'm so very sorry. Dementia is such a sad thing. Take care of each other. <3

What was her response? "I have a daughter??" seriously though, may she rest in peace.

I'm sorry that happened to you OP. my grandmother had Alzheimer's and after my grandfather died she forgot she was ever married. It's really sad when things like that happen.

Sorry for your loss. That must of been heartbreaking after you told her.

I'm sorry for your loss - and hers as well. Keep your heads high!

I feel very bad that your grandmothers mind is slipping away. A victim of dementia is a very sad scene. I cannot imagine how I would feel knowing the thing I treasure most, my mind, is leaving me. While I can see that it wasn't pleasant time telling her that her child had died it is a minor thing compared to her issue.

I know how you feel. My grandmothers sister died and she has Alzheimer's.
