Today, while driving, I saw someone's hubcap blowing away behind me on the highway. I thought it was funny and sort of chuckled to myself. Later I realized it was my hubcap. FML

Today, I was standing around looking out the window at work when it became really dark and windy and started to pour. I watched a shopping cart fly across the parking lot thinking how funny it'd be if it hit someone's car. It hit mine. I need a new headlight. FML

Today, my husband blew a tire in a hidden pothole on the way to work. I picked him up in my car later that day, only to hit an entirely different pothole, bending my rim, and catapulting my hubcap into the woods. FML

Today, I was driving back home when I saw a yellow object flying off my roof of my car through the side mirrors. I thought nothing of it, then I noticed that I didn't have my phone with me. That's when I realized that the "flying yellow object" was my phone. FML

Today, I saw a car on the side on the highway with a popped tire. The driver didn't have a spare, so I nicely gave them mine. One hour later my tire popped. FML

Today, there was a traffic accident on the highway which I normally take. I couldn't resist laughing at the driver since he was stupid enough to rear-end someone on the highway. What I didn't realize is that I forgot to pay attention to the road and rear-ended the car in front of me. FML

Today, I forgot to take my wallet off the roof of my car and drove away, onto the highway. A man behind me began flashing his lights and waving his arms. I thought he was freaking out because I cut him off. I flipped him off. He was trying to tell me that all my money was flying down the road. FML

Today, I was speeding a little on the highway. I thought I saw a police car, so I slammed on my brakes, causing the person behind me to rear end me. The "police car" I saw was just a broken down car on the side of the road. FML

Today, my tire blew while I was on the freeway. I had to change the tire in pouring rain while wearing short shorts and flip-flops. No one stopped to help, but several people politely honked as if to remind me of my misfortune. FML

Oh god we are from the same place. Please make sure your other hub caps are secured so I don't get my car dented! Sucks you lost a hubcap through, those things are way overpriced for being made so cheaply.

a hub cap is those plastic wheel Centre things you put on cheap tyres to make them look like you have rims.. they cost $10 each. They are always on the side of highways etc. It's not exactly horrible..?

That makes it slightly less horrible, I suppose. Just for fun, why don't we travel down a slippery slope? What if that inane piece of plastic had tumbled off the OPs wheel on a highway and an unsuspecting driver isn't fully paying attention and just sees something rolling toward their moving car. They would, I hope, avoid and recover easily if there's no other traffic around. However if there is traffic around, the aforementioned driver could either A) hit someone accidentally trying to avoid hitting something on the road or B) start a traffic jam without having had an accident themselves but later cause an accident because of backed up traffic. I know this wasn't the case, but the possibilities are endless.

I thought hub caps are metal...? Every time I've seen one on the side of the road they've been metal. Have I just been calling rims hub caps? Car experts tap in!

Rims are what the tires are actually mounted on. Hubcaps are just the the easily attached/removed cover of where everything fits together. They're usually really cheap and plastic, and optional if you don't mind how they look.
