Um, do you even know how people get these STDs? HIV is only transferable via blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk, and cannot survive on open surfaces for longer than a few seconds. Syphilis, which you spelled atrociously, is very rarely contracted through open skin contact, so I'm pretty sure people don't have it just floating around their bathroom counter. Sex can be unsanitary anywhere, that is why appropriate clean up and regular hygiene is recommended.

They were most likely in the shower or bathtub. People specifically go in the shower to get clean, so I would think it would be one of the more sanitary places to have sex. It's not like it's a public bathroom, they probably clean it regularly.
