What an asshole. You shouldn't sit next to someone if you're not at least gonna attempt to move when the bus arrives at your stop. That's just rude. It's one thing if, after sitting down, he attempted to get out of the seat and let you off, then jokingly said what he said, but to just sit there like you're long of the world is extremely douchey.
The man was finally fed up with the derision and demeaning attitude people have been giving him all his life. Obese doesn't mean out of shape and it isn't an automatic death sentence. You don't automatically get clogged arteries from weighing too much and the only malady proven to be linked to obesity is heart disease, which is also caused by stress. The single most beneficial thing you can do for your health is to walk, not lose weight. Had I been in your shoes I would not have been cowed by his surly attitude but would have simply climbed over the top of him. He gave you his permission.
Being morbidly obese does mean out of shape, and lets face it genius, this isn't a medical diagnosis. He doesn't know the guy, its an opinion of a layman on what he is visually seeing of some fat idiot. Considering this, we can safely assume he wasn't a bodybuilder or in any way in shape. You're also quite wrong in your diagnosis. We also know for a fact that the weight does cause issues such as inflammation and strain on organs and structure of the body. On top of this, the propensity for injury, and a fairly strong case for plenty of various chronic diseases.
@119: You think that just because people have been giving him shit all his life, that he can treat people the way he was treated? You think that just because I've been given shit to all MY life, that I'm going to be a rude bitch to other people? NO. Why the **** should I be mean to people that haven't done a thing to me? I can hold my head up high with pride knowing that I am a better person than those who seek revenge.
That is understandable. I am not discounting his actions and the fact that he was rude, but the fact that he's obese shouldn't be brought into it. There are just as many nice obese people and rude thin people. People shouldn't be making assumptions. I've been treated like crap, yet I still hold my head high and respect other people. I made my comments as politely as possible and all I was saying was that some people on here really need to learn how to be respectful towards others.
Fat people with a sense of humor are always a good mix.
Nope. Thats an urban legend.
Omg, I hate when that happens >.< Some people are just down right rude.
UmBongos... Creative name! :D
Would have said : "Yeah, good luck getting laid", just before walking on his fat belly, and head if needed
Dude, just get our your pokeflute.

I would have hit him.
You should have yelled " oh look they are giving free hotdogs outside"
