Cats are pretty intelligent. She probably wants attention and whereas most cats act out by meowing, clawing furniture, etc. she has learned that she can get your attention by hitting that switch. It's like a toddler, it doesn't matter if the attention is positive or negative, just that it's given. Try spending more time with your cat and see if it works. And don't yell at her or chase her when she does the power strip any more and when she learns she can't phase you that way, the behavior will become extinct.

That's the kind of animals I like... Smart and sassy.
