Today, while jogging in the park, I saw a man acting strange and trying to talk to 3 little girls. I jogged over to their mother and warned her about a 'weirdo' lurking around her daughters. Turns out that 'weirdo' is the woman's disabled brother. FML

I saw a man wearing a bike helmet, flailing his arms and following the little girls around. I kept jogging and saw a woman sitting on a park bench texting. She was completely out of site of the girls. I kindly asked her if she was their mother. When she replied 'yes', I told her that I saw a man talking to her daughters and that he looked like a weirdo...that's when she told me that the 'weirdo' was her disabled brother. I apologized to her and took off. I'm not a judgmental person; I was acting on my instincts as a woman to protect these young girls. Believe me, I'm mortified!!!

Dont feel bad, you had good intentions. :)

I mean, your intentions were pure. I'd rather that you help prevent a situation than you allowing something to happen.

Mamma always said "people will try to judge you... Try not to do the same"

Better to act than ignore it and someone molest them. I would be grateful if I was that mum

The mom was offended because nothing bad happens within families? The word "incest" exists and is widely known because that shit happens with disturbing frequency. What's the word for sex with a toaster? Either there isn't one or it's very obscure. That's because such a thing is extremely rare and not as much fun as one might think. According to a friend of mine, that is ;)

Your intentions were good but how you choose to vocalize your intentions needs some work. How about there is a man that's talking to your children I just want to make you aware. Instead of there's a weirdo with your kids.

How the hell were you to know that he was acting weird because he was disabled, and not because he was clumsy pedophile?

You are aware that pedos can look like normal people too, right? Seeing a disabled person and instantly labeling them as a weirdo is not a good thing.

Actually, the pedos that look like normal people are the most dangerous. Most kids run in fright from weirdos (or "disabled people" as you so colorfully call them).

As a mom myself, I would rather a concerned citizen like you checked and be wrong than you do nothing and lose my child or them be hurt by someone. Better to be safe than sorry because there are so many creeps out there!

Better safe than sorry. I would have phrased it differently, because, as you found out the hard way, calling people "weirdo" can bite you in the butt!
