You did ask for a recommendation so it's not her fault.
Maternity looks cuter than plus size. Take her advice.
While the fact that you were taken there by a salesperson was kind of insulting, the maternity clothes may be worth a look. I have a bit of a tummy and a larger bra size, so maternity clothes are actually much more flattering on me than regular clothes or (ugh) plus size clothes. For some reason, too many clothing manufacturers think plus size means 'without actual shape'. Most plus size clothes are baggy, weirdly stretchy, and shapeless while maternity clothes are made to fit actual people. I've avoided the maternity label at times, but now if I see a cute shirt or dress that flatters both my waist and my chest, I buy it, regardless of what it says on the tag. I'm not as thin as I'd like to be, but I'm far from fat. Don't worry about what anyone says. Just wear what looks good. ;)
I am about to get a lot of hate for this, so just beforehand, i really don't care what anyone thinks. If you are fat enough to look pregs, totally your fault. It is pathetic that you feel sorry for yourself about this instead of seeing it as a wake up call. YDI times a thousand
Oh snowflake. I think you are confusing that what you are able to do, should apply to every single person, ever. It does not work that way. First, there is endomorph and ectomorph body types. One is naturally always going to look 'chubbier' no matter what they do. It is how fat is deposited/carried on the body. Genetics and epigenetics are also a big factor in how ones body looks despite eating and exercise regimens as well, and again, how and where the body stores its fat/loses fat etc. Now. Taking all that into account, it does not give those that do nothing and stuff their face free reign whine, but, my dear, there are people that do really really, honest! live healthy and look bigger. Oh, and take a look at pregnant bellies. They all don't look the same. There is a remarkable range in how the look, protrude/spread, what have you. So, a healthy bigger person can be mistaken with someone who is pregs and not be a disgusting lame person who cannot control themselves. Go read some actual research. So.
You are so ignorant, it's ridiculous. Maybe if you read a book sometime, you would know that there are often many factors that contribute to weight gain other than diet and exercise.
I'd also like to point out that certain medical conditions make you bloat like crazy, but it's not fat it's just water (look up 'ascites' if you're feeling brave).
I actually do know that, believe it or not. And if OP actually counts her calories and works out and she is not seeing weight loss, she should go to her doctor! Perhaps she has something really wrong that needs to be corrected like a hormonal imbalance. But lets face it, most fat people are fat because they eat too much
48- first i have read research. A lot of it. And i get that some people have a bigger shape. and if they are cool with it, i am cool with it. but nobody's "shape" is obese. Seriously? You are just a person making excuses to be fat
54- and by the way, i am a third year bio major. I read lots of books, thank you
Are you busty OP, maybe it's not a weight thing. I have to buy some of my shirts in Maternity cause I'm busty and they fit better where they need too, plus some of those clothes are super cute and don't look like maternity clothes. ^-^
Well that could be for future reference...wouldn't hurt to be ready for that time...
Awh :(
diet coke and donuts don't work get hint and hit the gym boo.
At least they have a maternity section. I can't seem to find hardly any stores with one. Haha.

Hmm. Free and honest advice comes in all forms. Perhaps this is a sign? ;p Either way, I imagine that didn't make you feel good about yourself. Sorry Op.
Next time, do your own shopping. ;P
