Guess she should walk you to the treadmill section then
Don't get snotty. If you're so overweight you get mistaken for being pregnant that's not the salesperson's fault. YDI
Would this have been easier to take if it was just called "fat person clothes" and not "maternity" You said you asked the employee to recommend something for you. They took you to the area that had clothes that would fit you comfortably and make you look good. What would you have done if they took you to the section with the size 4's? You would've said they didn't know their job. This person took you to the section where the clothes best fit you. The fact that it's the maternity section, while hurtful to your pride and self esteem, isn't their fault.
If you're that fat and were incapable of doing your own shopping, what did you think they'd recommend to you, the athletic clothes? Hopefully you weren't the sort of arsehole to complain to management and get them in hot water for doing their job too.

Hmm. Free and honest advice comes in all forms. Perhaps this is a sign? ;p Either way, I imagine that didn't make you feel good about yourself. Sorry Op.
Next time, do your own shopping. ;P
