Today, while shopping, my six-year-old son threw a tantrum because I wouldn't buy him a video game. I ended up having to grab his arm and leave the store. He screamed that I was kidnapping him, at which point I was socked in the face and pinned to the floor by three bystanders. FML

Hell I never acted like that, I knew better. My dad would spanked my ass and made sure no video games were played again. Sounds like your son needs to be put in his place.

You are so right - I was raised the same and knew better than ti ever behave this way. I would have received a good slap in the store, a good spanking at home and lost all price ledges for a long time.

I was never beat but I still know right from wrong. If I had pulled that shit I wouldn't even see video games for like a year. Some parents need to discipline their kids otherwise the kid will end up being a douche when he grows up.

That's why you just walk away. Act like he's not your kid. Get in your car and threaten to drive away. He'll come running

I hope you're OK, but if that was my kid he would be (a) grounded for the rest of the calendar year, and (b) selling all his games and consoles!

I have a question. Does grounding kids actually work? I'm a bit curious since I was beaten as punishment.

If I were you I would say spanked beated sounds bad it sounds as though you were abused

The kid should have his ass kicked so hard all his posterity will feel it.

Children learn their behaviors from adults so you have only yourself to blame!!! YDI

There are various things that teach kids how to behave, apart from the parents. TV, the internet, people in the outside world not even interacting with you... you'd be surprised at what they actually pick up.

Think about what you just said.

Give your head a shake! They learn these behaviors from video games, friends and the interweb. And the generation they are born into plays a huge role. There's days when I feel like the world is doomed with the younger upcoming generations.

I'm sure his parents are dragged out of stores screaming about being kidnapped ALL the time.

i would've said I'll buy it online cuz its cheaper" then tought my kid a lesson at home.

he wont need any more games once he loses his game system till he learns his lesson... when my nephew had a tantrum in a shop screaming how he wanted simething, his dad threw a similar tantrum screaming he wants a child that behaves... it actually worked...

I'll bet you anything you ended up buying the game. The so-called "bystanders" were not legit -- they're just shills for the video store. Who the **** else would pay full retail price for video games? People who get their brains scrambled by GameStop thugs, that's who!
