Today, while video chatting with my girlfriend, who lives on the other side of the country, I thought I'd play a song for her on my guitar. The string broke and hit me in the face. I burst into tears and had to hang up. FML

Sounds like a Taylor Swift song. Teardrops on your guitar? Right?...

That's happened to me before. Nothing to be ashamed of, it hurts like shit :)

She'll just think it was sweet and you're sensitive and other good boyfriend traits. This might actually be racking you up some points.

had that happen to me before. it really hurts, luckily it did not hit your eye.

She might be more upset that you hung up on her than anything else

I seriously hope it wasn't a steel string guitar. The pain of the tension being released from any guitar string hitting your face hurts, but a steel string can leave a scar. I only know this because I cut my leg falling on a steel string guitar and have six long scars from it.

That's terrible. F both of your lives, I'm a guitarist and it has never happened to me.

Im not even a guitarist. My friend needed me to sign for her furniture delivery, and had the bright idea to leave her guitar next to her couch. I fell and ripped open my leg. She's a few puppies short of a pet shop( in other words an idiot )

Might as well start playing now, if you've already suffered one of the worst possible consequences.

Big failure for you, But a laughter for your girlfriend.

Aaw I feel sorry for you OP! :/ But what you were trying to do was very nice! :)

I feel bad for the OP, but at the same time that made me laugh. XD

When I was a student at Guitar Institute of Technology, there was a guy who came in one day with an eye patch. A broken string had whipped up and pierced his eye. Second anecdote: my first time performing at my high school, I was playing Crazy Train on my new JS10th, just at the top of the solo, and I broke a string. I had a backup guitar, but it was all downhill from there. Anyway, change your strings, call her back, and give it another shot.
