Today, while waiting in line at a store, a toddler behind me was throwing a major meltdown while his father yelled at him, giving me a migraine. I turned to the woman behind me and said, "Can you believe this kid? I feel sorry for his mother." Turns out the woman was his mother. FML

the mother was probably embarrassed and distressed. hopefully it's not a daily occurrence.

Children throw tantrums, it doesn't make the parents bad, but the dad shouldn't have yelled at the child, autistic or not, children are still very sensitive beings, and the best approach would have been to pick the child up and calmed. My daughter will be 2 in July and has just started with the terrible twos stage. disciplining has nothing to do with it (no, my daughter doesn't get spanked and never will, and she is a very good child). All children are different. shame on you op. YDI

that's hilarious. don't these other stupid hippies tell u that u did wrong. you gotta make people feel stupid for the stupid shit they do. my wife and myself would have done the same thing as u. u were in the right.

really wish I could reply to others that have commented on your post. they are dumb as a bucket of rocks. don't keep your comments to yourself. it's like the only people that reply on this are from California. by that I mean you're all *******.

as a parent, I agree, but people should keep comments such as OPs to themselves.

I think the real FML here is that the father chose to respond to his tantrum-throwing child with more yelling. If anything, it's eventually going to teach the kid that yelling in public is acceptable for child and adult alike.

I know about migraines all too well, but that was definitely a keep your mouth shut situation. Sorry OP and hope your migraine went away quickly.

Running the mouth for no apparent reason it seems.
