Children throw tantrums, it doesn't make the parents bad, but the dad shouldn't have yelled at the child, autistic or not, children are still very sensitive beings, and the best approach would have been to pick the child up and calmed. My daughter will be 2 in July and has just started with the terrible twos stage. disciplining has nothing to do with it (no, my daughter doesn't get spanked and never will, and she is a very good child). I think the real FML here is that the father chose to respond to his tantrum-throwing child with more yelling. If anything, it's eventually going to teach the kid that yelling in public is acceptable for child and adult alike.
