Today, while working in a restaurant, I took an elderly man to his table under a red colored lamp. He asked me if this was "the red light district." I thought he was just kidding until when I was placing down the menus he leaned in and whispered creepily in my ear, "You know, you're really sexy." FML

All you had to do was give him to a male waiter, problem solved.

or she's in her work close and looks attractive. she's either looks like a ***** or he is senile (meaning she is not attractive)

i'm surprised how often men are total shit-bags to female servers. Deal with it and just hope he doesn't become a regular.

Make him wait two hours before you bring him his food.

Ridiculous! It was an unusally perverted thing to say; anyone would think he's kidding!

This shouldn't be a FML. It means you're hot. Good for you (:

What's your point? It IS creepy that an old man is hitting on a (probably) much younger guy/girl...unless you're into those daddies and all...

Yeah.. Because people love to get told that they're hot by old people xD LOOOOOL!!

You took the words out of my mouth, 20. That's what the man did wrong. He should have been a hot young guy. That bastard didn't think of that, did he?

It's still creepy when a guy who is old enough to be your grandfather or GREAT-grandfather is hitting on you, it is sick. I know, it's happened to me. Would you like it if a 75 year old woman with every disease out there probably and senile was hitting on you? Because you just love THAT kind of attention, eh? It wouldn't be creepy at all? Now shut up, and get over yourself.

In that case, it would have been less creepy and more slimy.

I have to agree. Being a young waitress/hostess means you'll occasionally get hit on. It's not like he's stalking you; just move on. I think there should be a third voting option for "Not an FML." EDIT: Whoops. This was supposed to be a reply to #25.

#38 - yes. and i think the new layout of everything makes downloading the page take longer for my computer. which is annoying. People saying she'll get a good tip- she's the hostess not the waiter we normally don't make tips, at least at my restaurant. OP- i once had a pair of hollister khakis on (with the bird logo) and an old drunk dude grabbed the ass of my pants and asks "is that an eagle on your pants?" Creepers happen. Especially in the restaurant industry.

I know I wouldn't care, personally. It's still just not classy and stupid humor to ask "Is this the red light district?"

What's wrong with him being into younger women? I don't think people's age preferences necessarily change with their age.

Unwanted sexual advances are creepy, full stop. In this case, he was using her position as a waitress to his advantage, taking advantage of the fact that she had to be nice to him and couldn't just walk away. It's not a compliment, it's sexual harassment. He's another asshole on a power trip, just like all the "hot" boys who think sexual harassment is innocent fun. So yes, it would have been creepy coming from a hot boy.

I wonder how 'creepy' it would've been if the 'elderly man' had been a 'hot guy'?
