Sounds like you need to find a new family doctor. Or at least go into a walk-in clinic to get a second opinion
Sounds like dyspraxia to me. That should get you about a week off.
Could be one of 3 possibilities… (1) Doctor is overworked or not very good at their job. (2) OP has mental health issues that should be addressed by a psychologist. (3) OP is looking for the “golden ticket” that lets them collect disability. I sympathize with #1 and #2 possibilities - OP needs to see another doctor for a second medical opinion or see a psychologist depending on the situation… I have no sympathy at all for #3 (looking for a disability check if the disability does not exist).
@Chazzter - You must be fun at parties because you have many friends. And a partner who says you're smart.
In the US, that "golden ticket" is around $800/month and you're no longer eligible once you hit $2,000 in savings. This is not enough to live in a city with any sort of financial security. Don't talk about things you don't understand.
Even if it were #3, or even #2, how would the doctor know without conducting any physical exam whatsoever? Sounds like condescending, lazy bullshit on the doctor’s part to me. The worst thing is not being listened to when you have an issue. And sometimes it unfortunately takes a LOT of tests and digging to figure out what it is - and you need an interested, dedicated doctor for that. When you have a doctor waving away what you’re feeling and not taking you seriously, it’s extremely disheartening. Whatever is wrong with OP, I hope she gets a second opinion from someone who takes her seriously. And if it really is “nothing” to be worried about, that they at least do thorough tests to confirm that. Good luck, OP.
(1) If OP has a disability either physically or with their mental health then first priority is getting help for that disability - Starting with a competent checkup. And it doesn’t sound like that was happening… (2) There are now several health conditions that were once thought to by psychosomatic (in the head) that are now recognized as resulting from a physical condition. And there are mental health conditions that can result in the person seeming to experiencing physical pain - Such as depression and anxiety. If that is the case, OP really needs mental health care. (3) And finally, there are some people who will game the system to collect money without working although they may actually be quite capable of working. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t help people with disabilities just because a few unfairly game the system, but it does mean the system usually has built in checks and balances to prevent that. US Social Security Disability payments range on average between $800 and $1,800 per month for full disability in the USA. There are many people in the USA who are surviving on Social Security. It’s not a comfortable life, but it is income without working for when you cannot. In Germany, where OP is aparantly living, full disability is 1000 EU per month. Again not a comfortable situation, but if you have minimal expenses it was designed to be survivable…
