Start small first your body needs to get used to it luckily you didn't puke some people do in this situation
YDI. Humans are meant to be omnivores. Eating either pure vegetables or pure meat is unhealthy. Maybe next time you'll do the research properly and not just believe the hippie hype.
Trying to be healthy? Going vegetarian has nothing to do with being healthier or not, skipping protein and having to go out of your way to replace it anyway, yea great idea.
First, your doctor is on crack. Unless there's a specific health concern he's trying to get you to address by eating meat, it's actually somewhat easy to eat a healthy, vegetarian diet. Second, if you do want to go back to eating meat, your body will start producing the enzymes to digest meat again if you reintroduce meat to your diet *gradually*.
Very odd indeed, I've been vegeterian (for moral reasons) for 11 years now, and I've only once been anemic (lack of iron for those who don't know) in that time, and that was because I was hardly eating anything at all at that point. Otherwise I've always been perfectly healthy, practicing sport regularly, getting perfectly good marks at school... I don't really see how vegetarianism can be a health risk unless you can't eat healthily anyway.
Vegetarianism is actually very detrimental to your health. There is a reason that we are omnivores, because we need to eat both meat, and plants. Don't be fooled by vegetarians that say they are healthier. Studies show they have a higher risk at contracting diseases and developing tumors.
Try again. Vegetarians weigh less and have a lower risk of heart disease. Generally speaking, they don't have the same severity of problems the average meat eating american seems to be famous for right now
#121 People have been eating meat all over the world for a really long time. Our food has only recently been filled with chemicals and hormones recently, which is probably where a lot of our health problems come from. Americans aren't the only ones who eat meat but we eat a lot of fast food and the like.
i can understand to a certain extent. i mean im a vegetarian but i will only have fish for health reasons. nothing else
Vegetarians do not eat any animal flesh. You do, therefore you're not a vegetarian. Please stop calling yourself like that.
It's more likely that your gut bacteria are reacting to a change in your diet. Whether or not you decide to stop eating meat again is up to you, but if you choose to continue your gas should subside quickly.

Talk to said doctor and get enzyme supplements. Orrr create animal shaped vege products and call it a day.
Your body should start producing them again, eventually. Until then, your body will have a beef with you.
