Apparently there is a taxi cleaning fee which is either equivalent to the fee for keeping the cabby waiting for an hour or just up to 75$ depending on where you are... So if the op had a cheap handbag with nothing in it but a few cheap odds and ends and kept her phone in her pocket OR (pretty likely this one) is a perfectly normal broke college/uni student and didn't HAVE 75$ or more plus fare to pay the cab driver, and figured she could deal with purse puke better than the fee... For the people saying she should have opened the window, I have heard of SO many people trying to open the window and losing it while it was still less than half way down, resulting in 80-100% of the puke in the car plus back-splash. Electric windows are not instantaneous. Yes, it was stupid of the op to get that drunk but its FAR from uncommon and she had the sense to take a cab home... And yeah, she could have asked him to pull over, but can you picture her doing so? "Hey, can you pull over I think I'm going to be *BLARGH*" projectile vomit all over the driver, or in any event all over the cab. Honestly, I can't think of a more reasonable call she could have made if she was a student with just enough cash for food (and booze and cabs, but she obviously spent that), and if I'm not mistaken uni might still be on in australia, this really isn't an unlikely or uncommon scenario... Pretty much if you've been a designated driver, there's a damn good chance someone has puked in the car (which is why you drive someone else's)...
The sad part? It's obviously not your first time throwing up in a taxi since you know about the fee...
Epitome of FML. Righteous.
Windows? ... I know you were drunk but really? In your handbag? That's just stupid. Hopefully it wasn't an expensive one. Considering you could think about not wanting to pay the cleaning fees you could think about throwing up out of the windows or ask to pull over. At least you were responsible taking a taxi and thinking about not wanting to pay the cleaning fees. Most of my friends world throw up right then and there...on my shoes. It's happened a lot before.
YDI for getting yourself stoned.
YDI irresponsable drinker. I feel sorry for the cab driver.
