Vacation in Hell

By misc - 08/06/2011 17:52 - Netherlands

Today, while in Holland, I lost the bag with my passport, debit and credit cards, license, and camera. I froze my accounts and filled out the paperwork for a new passport. My bag was found the second time I went to the police, with everything in it. Now my accounts are frozen for the 3 weeks I'm here. FML

OP, call Visa or Mastercard or whoever your cards are with. They can arrange for emergency funds to be send to a bank or Western Union type place near where you are, which will later be debited from your new card. Something similar happened to me while I was in India and about 24 hours later I had been supplied as much money as I needed (up to my credit limit). Just call them and tell them that you're stuck for funds. The verification process is not much fun, but its worth it.

^ This. Or at the very least, they'll usually send you traveler's checks.

you know you not supposed to put you passport in you luggage when you go to other countries??? why didn't you bring that as a carry on???

I didn't know they had albinos on Jersey Shore.

this is why when going overseas you should have cash on you in addition to cards. the cash should be on you so even if your bag is lost you are not without money.

now you're in holland with all your money! go smoke a quarter pound and chillax!

Better to be safe though. Thankfully no one stole your bag. Sorry OP :(.

well, at least nothing has been stolen. that would've sucked more. you're lucky one of the few honest people left out there found your bag. still sucks to be in a foreign country without money tho.

well, if your bag would be lost for real, you wouldn't even have clothes to wear! So, don't whine and go prostitute yourself so you'll earn some money. You know the stereotypes about us, so you either have to go smoke some weed(which you can't because you have no money) or you can go 'achter de ramen staan' in Amsterdam. Problem solved, you see? Well, enjoy your stay!
