Welcome to adulthood

Today, I confronted my 18-year-old daughter about her excessively lengthy showers. She said she didn't see the big deal, considering the water "comes free with the house." No dear, it doesn't. FML

Let her pay a bill and then see how she feels about her shower length.

Just do what my mom used to do, bang on the door and yell until she gets out. Or invest in a shower timer.

Some people just won't know until they're on their own.

You sure she wasn't referencing whatever film that's from?

She's masturbating in there. I remember when I was a teen, my parents were always mad about how long I spent in there, and that's exactly what I was doing. Give her a break, at least she's not sleeping around and getting pregnant.

I hope she shaves her legs each shower with all that time in there.

Explain it to her, show her the bills. She should know this by 18 but no harm in teaching her to avoid this next time.

I agree. In all the apartments that I've ever rented, the water has been included in the rent. Or in rare cases you pay a certain amount each month and get unlimited use of water. So if the issue never came up before, she understandbly did not know.

anyone else thinking of 8 Simple Rules here?

Shouldn't she know that? I mean most kids move out at that time and it's common sense. WATER bill, phone bill, etc.
