Don't ever lie on your résumé no matter what

I understand a little white lie but that was a bit over the too, YDI

OP- Lying blatantly, unless you're running for congress, is rarely a positive in an interview!! YDI as much as anyone could!!

I speak conversational French - when I put that down on job applications or mention it during an interview I very strongly highlight that it's CONVERSATIONAL - not fluent by any means. Just tell the truth next time, OP :)

YDI for sure why would you lie about that? I hope the interviewer didn't consider for the position.

And that's why I do not lie on my résumé. Not only can they decide to not hire you when they find out, but they can fire you if they find out after you're fired. Why lie? If you want it, earn it. Don't lie to get it.

I learnt it is never wise to lie on your résumé after watching Friends-- where Joey was forced to teach those Broadway dancers. :P

I don't feel sorry for you. You lied to get a job and then got caught in said lie. That's your fault. Next time don't lie.
