He probably wouldn't laugh since it seems he has a submissive personality. It's really hard to take your partner seriously if they try to take on a role that's the polar opposite of their normal role. I know my boyfriend would laugh his ass off of I tried to be dominant :p

Next time he tries, that's IF he's confident enough to try next time, don't laugh. Pretty sure you slaughtered any ounce of confidence he had in him when you did that, and it probably made him feel like an idiot :/

I think voting FYL or YDI depends entirely on what your relationship with your boyfriend is like and how well you know each other. Being dominated in any way is such a huge turn-off for me that being laughed at would be the least of my boyfriend's concerns if he tried that during sex.

Uggh, I've sorta been im his position before. Took ages to work up the confidence to do much again even though my bf is pretty understanding amd supportive. F his life. OP, make sure you try to be more supportive in the future (maybe try doggy style, then he won't see you laughing if you can't hold it in?) but also try not to make too big a deal of it.
