What the puck?

Today, I had my first game ever as an ice hockey goalie. Our team didn't have a goalie helmet, so they gave me a regular one which didn't cover me completely. I was worried about it and told my coach, but he said I would be fine. I then took a puck to the throat that sent me to hospital. FML

Isn't there a rule that says if there's no proper equipment you or the team can't play?? Or get your coach in trouble for that?

heck of a save though, that'll make the highlight reel

It only happened cause you worried about getting hurt. Totally wouldn't have happened otherwise. Hockey is like the safest sport out there. ^_^ Hope it wasn't too serious! = I've been pucked multiple times. Can't even - no, don't even want to imagine one to the throat.

No offence but YDI.. Why would you risk getting hurt or worse? Hockey is a dangerous sport. Awesome, but dangerous.

I used to be a goalie like you until I took a puck to the throat!

That really sucks hope your ok

Regular goalie helmets don't cover your throat either it's the neck guards and you don't have to have one, but that sucks

yeah, you should definitely sue the coach. because HE is the one that willingly stepped on the ice to play without the proper equipment.

I used to play for Ohio state. during The Michigan game, my shin guards started popping because of how much tape I had put on them, needless to say, I got hit and snapped my knee in half.

Get the coach in trouble and he should have to pay for the medical bills…maybe plus a little extra.

1. Depending on age, it doesn't matter. 2. There is usually a set goalie after you are 8. 3. Wimp. I get my head hit with pucks everyday. (ice hockey goaltender for 10 years)
