Today, my best friend and I went to the movies. There was a hot cashier, so I thought it would be cool to talk in a British accent to try and be sexy. I walked up and started talking when he interrupted me and said in a very heavy British accent, "I know you're faking. You can stop now." FML

Wow, thanks for making Americans look even stupider. I admit I'm American, and British(all the different countries and regions, to clarify) and Irish accents are cool, and fun to listen to, and might even be nice to have. But if you don't have one, faking one makes you looks horribly moronic, and we don't need anymore help with that. I've heard others try and fake one, and its painful, even for a non-British person to listen to. But for the indignant non-Americans commenting here, please try to keep in mind we aren't all ignorant and clueless. It's hard, but try.

I like this! I'm English and unlike the fact that you acknowledge that most of these comments on this post don't exactly put you in a good light but we don't all think all American are idiots, although you guys should show Moore of the smart side of America in media rather than the 'eat a loa of shit then be seriously ignorant' side :) I think America is a very smart place but you just really don't see that side of America that much (I'm sorry but look at your presidential elections, even those had homophobic bastards in them) but I like you and I like this post very much :)

Isn't Yankee Doodle Dandy about a gay club and it was a British song made up about American's to mock us back in said Revolutionary times? Sadly, Americans being uninformed, it caught on...and I'm pretty sure we were made to sing it in Elementary school as recent as 14 years ago. Either way, there are worse things to be called. I don't understand why everyone gets so upset over it. This stigma against gay people needs to die anyway.
