#8 is correct, do as he suggests.
Well I wouldn't take that job. But you can
13 I'm going to ******* kill you. Dumbass
#8, #11, #16, and #25 (and I am sure others) are all right. Depending on which country you live in there are laws against them doing that to you. They can offer the job back at a slightly lower salary but half is far too low. Check with a lawyer. Most will give a free BASIC consult (costs money for a real one) and if you have a case you can bring something to the courts about it. That is gross misconduct on their part. And Yeah I agree with some. Unless you absolutely need the job (as I know so many do) then just **** em and decline.
What's so bad about that. There's starving kids in Africa that would work at half your salary. Now stop crying and take it before you kill some Africans.
#36, you're a ******* idiot. Way to bring something completely unrelated into the conversation to try and make people feel like shit. People die in third world countries every day - and not just in Africa. So **** off.
#30 Wrong. It varies state to state, but unemployment in my state has a cutoff which pays less than minimum wage. A few years ago, I got fired and thought I could coast for a month or so on half pay, but that miserable amount lit a fire under my ass and I got a better job in three weeks. No ******* safety net here in the good ol' U. S. of A!
Yeah I just got laid off too. If they come back and try to hire me cheaper again they're going to get a big '**** Off' from me.

wouldn't that be a bit illegal? firing you just to pay you less? it is kinda indirect but still.
Take your job back, just work half as much and see what you can get away with.
