I did Nazi that coming. You need to teach your child that fascism is evil, or move to a state where fascism on the rise and teach him the Heil DeSantis salute. Your choice.
For one that seems like a rather extreme response from the school for a 6-year who doesn't know better. maybe you should ask the school where he learned how to draw that but also it is technically a stolen Hindu religious symbol.
Or a Navajo peace symbol.
Switch schools. If they can't redirect a kid who accidentally drew something stupid, they're gonna be even worse when he ACTUALLY misbehaves. (Maybe explain also that 'bad people' used that symbol so it's not nice to draw it. Not sure how to simplify the Holocaust for six-year-olds. Just go with 'Nazis are bad guys so we don't do bad guy things' or something, it's a time-honored American tradition.)
1. Swastikas do actually differ from the Hindu and Navajo symbols. 2. Drawing these is actually misbehaving and is considered a hate crime. 3. Through things such as movies and age appropriate literature (number the stars comes to mind) teach your child about the Holocaust.
First, where did he see the symbol in the first place? Second, did he know what it was and what it meant? Third, if he didn't the symbolism, suspension is a big punishment for an innocent mistake. The kid's only six for crying out loud.
