Ah, those were the times…

Today, my 19-year-old brother subjected me to yet another rant about how the writers of My Little Pony aren't writing the show for people like him any more, the "true fans", otherwise known as pimply-faced adults who don't use deodorant and only shower once a week. FML

Sorry you have to live with this kid. How does one get into my little pony anyway?

Damn Bronys. Hows his fedora collection?

My boyfriend is a brony. I would never bash him for liking My Little Pony. It makes him happy, so I try to support him as best I can. I watch the show with him sometimes and have intellectual discussions with him about the moral of each episode. There are all kinds of Bronies, not just dirty middle aged men.

I am 100% okay with the idea of liking a children`s show, or any fandom at all for the matter. I still play GBA pokemon myself. But my problem is how self-entitled Bronies (sorry, a notable CHUNK of bronies, a large bit of you are nice) act. You don`t need to wear your Bronyism like a status if you are just going to flaunt it at other people. You like a show, that doesn`t mean you have to rebel society (whether it accepts you or not) and finish every sentence with `you got a problem with that` because you are insecure and overdefensive about it. I`ve seen people list their job as `brony` before, when they have an actual job but would rather have people know them as a fandom than a person. While a lot of bronies are actually really great people that like their show like I enjoy pokemon X and Y, a large chunk of bronies also take it too seriously and are really sensitive on the matter. I have been yelled at by bronies for voicing my own opinions on the show, being called a 'typical anti-brony' and a bigot, just because I said I didn`t like it. It`s cool to like a show for the show, it is not cool to be overdefensive and hypocritical where you seem to be always trying to prove a point.

What the hell are you using as apostrophe? It's 2 letters away from the L, you're using the button above the tab button aren't you? Idk what that is but it's the wrong one.

Im on a phone with a ****** up keyboard, at least I didn`t have autocorrect on when I posted that, lol.

There's nothing wrong with liking a kid's show. Unfortunately, bronies are notoriously creepy douchebag mysoginists (which makes it especially weird since MLP has some great feminist messages)

guess that explains why my little one doesn't play with the one I bought her lol

By that argument, all shows that are remakes of old originals (like the new TMNT) are horrible and not directed at the "true fans" who grew up with the original series. Personally, I find the new TMNT animations to be horrifying, particularly Casey Jones. Plus they made April and Casey both teens - that is horribly inaccurate. So I can see your brother's point. That's still no excuse for not keeping up proper hygiene.

I don't really understand the whole "bronie" thing at all. I get fandom, but adults squealing over a children's show is just a little... Creepy.

"Brony", and check out a few episodes yourself before you judge the show.

just because he's 19, it sure as he'll don't make him an adult

I think that the main reason that people are creeped out by bronies is because they've taken something as innocent as a kids show and turned it into a creepy, misogynistic, sexualized fandom. If you want to love something made for kids then that's fine. I'm 18 and I still love most of the disney princess movies. It's one thing to love a series. It's quite another to act like an entitled, obnoxious, obsessive brat while jerking off to it.

The misogyny is particularly baffling, seeing as it's a show that's very girl power oriented. You'd think any misogynist would avoid this show like the plague.
