Bronies are those who are "too old" for my little pony but still like it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with liking a children's show.
It's fans like that that make people embarrassed to admit they even like the show...
This is me. Closet pegasister. My boyfriend is the only person I have admitted it to outside of a group of bronies on my bus. The reason? Cloppers and anti-bronies fill my school. The cloppers are what make me afraid to admit it because I know everyone will automatically assume I'm like them. It hurts to know that I'll be judged just for having a positive opinion about a kids' show.
My boyfriend and I weren't even conventionally introduced to MLP through watching the show. Instead, I had noticed a few brony collabs on YouTube's newsfeed one afternoon, thought it was interesting to see a few references to adult media in the thumbnails, and gave them a chance. The references were hilarious as collab fodder, so I watched the first few episodes of the show. The wit and timing of the characters and script pulled me in, and I knew my boyfriend would enjoy the writing as much as I did. We also enjoyed spotting the occasional Derpy Easter egg in each episode. Now, he's a bigger fan of the show than I am (he usually keeps up with new episode releases on fan sites, and I don't actively pursue them), but he's certainly not the kind to wear MLP merchandise, collect vinyl figurines, or "spread the good word" on Facebook about how Celestia has a wonderful plan for his life. That's about as annoying as seeing people wearing Belieber, Team *insert mythological entity's name here*, One Direction, or any other pop culture reference die-hard shirts.
The only issue I see here is how horribly you are talking about your family member whose giant flaw seems to be that he talks to you about an uncommon interest that is important to him. Who cares what he's into? My Little Pony makes him happy, it doesn't hurt anyone, I don't see a problem here.
THANK you! Finally someone with some common sense!
I swear the guy who originally was like "I'm over the age of five and like MLP." doesn't feel so weird anymore. Like what you will but that doesn't make it not weird. Sorry about this OP. :p
The clopping is what I don't understand. Really? What would their fantasy coming true mean exactly?
Maybe he has a my little pony fetish?
Yes. Because everything someone likes he has sexual fantasies about. "Mhmmm I love this cheese. Some sexy ass cheese."
That's so sad to hear. Maybe he can stand up against the Pony Man and do something about it, like My Little Pimple or something along those lines.
Ewwwwww! You poor thing! Your brother is a neckbeard!

Sorry you have to live with this kid. How does one get into my little pony anyway?
Damn Bronys. Hows his fedora collection?
