Ah, those were the times…

Today, my 19-year-old brother subjected me to yet another rant about how the writers of My Little Pony aren't writing the show for people like him any more, the "true fans", otherwise known as pimply-faced adults who don't use deodorant and only shower once a week. FML

Sorry you have to live with this kid. How does one get into my little pony anyway?

Damn Bronys. Hows his fedora collection?

I watch it, and I'm 31 years old, I've held a job since I was 15, and I'm married. I also ride a motorcycle and have tattoos, and my wife works in pet nutrition while I work on cars. Thing about 19 year olds in general? They tend to get VERY involved in their own little worlds, since up to this point in their lives, other people didn't really exist. Maybe your brother is just being a typical douchey teenage guy, and being a Brony has nothing to do with it. Or maybe being a whiny douche is genetic, OP.

Who wants to bet that half of what this guy said about himself was either BS or glorified

Have you ever seen Bronys React to Teens React to MLP:FIM? If you haven't I suggest looking it up. There's a guy in that video who is by far much more manly than any of the people I know.

As a fan of the show, wow, what an ass. The "true fans" and target demographic are children. Hardcore Bronies tend to forget that fact.

I don't really understand the whole brony fan base my daughter is 8 and watches the show on Netflix to the point where I dread it. P.S. please ignore my grammar I'm drunk.

im a ******* bronie and I am not like that at all. however, I feel that your brother ia an absolute idiot that forgot that the show is made for little kids, not adults or teens like me...

grown men ********** to alot of different things. some people are into weird shit.

Aka nope, grown ass woman here. 35, married, in school, have a kid, and a proud MLP fan. But come on, man. It was always written for the kids. That never changed and hopefully won't.

I've got news for you: If you were into the show when it first started, then started bitching about changes geared toward merchandising, guess what? You're a hipster brony who got into the show because it was the thing to do, not for any real love of the show. The show has always been a vehicle to sell toys. It just has talented people working on it and happens to be entertaining. Your brother needs to lighten up.

This is funny, I just got into an argument with some bronies online today! They're ******* creepy! Can someone explain them to me? Or is pimply faced weirdoes who only shower once a week pretty much it? It's just creepy to me that a grown man would like a show for little girls.

Well my dead pandalover69 to answer your question, no. That doesn't sum it up. A brony can refer to anyone that enjoys watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This is including (but not limited to): 5 year olds, teenage boys and girls, prepubescent boys and girls, adult males and females. Because we are a progressive society that does not judge women for liking 'manly things' (right?) we will also not judge men for liking 'girly things' (right?)

*dear That typo made my post a lot more threatening than it should have been.

Holy shit i read that and was like damn this guy means business!

No one can explain why GROWN MEN are obsessed with CHILDREN'S show! And it's not just a children's show it's for girls. Last time I checked boys don't like barbie, but yet they like colorful, sparkly ponies?? How is a show about sparkly ponies good? Grow up and watch a show for adults.

SobrietyKills 14

Except there ARE some boys who like barbies and that should be alright and accepted in our culture??? The meaning of adult has changed. It's okay for an adult to like 'childish' things as long as they assume their responsibilities as one. Obviously OP's brother doesn't exactly fit this criteria, but there are many brony's (and people who watch 'childish things' for that matter) who fit this description.

Sorry but most "bronies" are quite stereotypical and you really would go far to defend a stupid show about ponies! It's a little girl show about dumb ponies that really awkward people enjoy watching! Every bronie I know fit the description of awkwardness, and every bronie I have seen online fit the description. I think that it isn't the actual show I find dumb but the people that watch it sort of like MTV.

But you'd go far to insult said show about ponies? I know that a lot of brony's may not be the most sociable people, but there are a lot who are as well. The same can be said for any fandom. Are you sure it isn't the fact that bronys make you uncomfortable (because it's different to the norm) that makes you dislike them?

@195: Heheh, right, because watching a reality show about a group of wealthy southern men and their bleach-blonde trophy wives snapping at each other over which neighbor told on them about burning leaves in a ditch while offering virtually no positive life lessons is a much more interesting, mature, and rewarding thing to watch, right? ^_^

77- Those aren't called bronies, they're cloppers. Spend some time on iFunny any you'll learn.
