All in the hood

Today, my jeep wouldn't start so I opened the hood. I slammed my fingers in my jeep's hood. It latched shut. My hood release was inside the cab, and the jeep was in neutral and on an incline. It started to roll, towards a ditch about 5 yards away. I had to skin my own fingers to get them out. FML

I think your problem may have been slamming your fingers in the hood. That's not a very good strategy when it comes to fixing vehicles.

wow you're dumb. Its just good policy to never get out of your car unless you put the parking brake on and/or put the car in park. and it's really not that hard to avoid slamming your fingers.

You're an idiot if you've seen VERY FEW Jeeps that aren't manual. What kind of mechanic are you? (Besides a bad one.) It's clearly not a wrangler, because wranglers don't have a hood release in the cab. A wrangler has a hood release in front with two latches that secure it on either side. This is most likely a Cherokee/Grand Cherokee. Which, often come with a manual transmission.

Well... if this is true, you deserved it for not using the emergency break and if it isn't, karma will most likely bite your fingers off...

so you skinned your own fingers today and was able to go on the computer to type this story? sorry, don't believe it.

OUCH!!!!!!! That sucks and that's scary! But never put your car in neutral when you're looking at the hood. Especially when you know there's some kind of incline! Not only should you put it in park, but put the emergency brake on! FYL! But I hope it was a lesson learned!

...How did he slam BOTH of his hands in the hood?

YDI. Anyone who drives a manual transmission knows that you never park a car in neutral. As well, you always put on the parking brake. You shouldn't be driving at all as you are too irresponsible,

fake. and even if it can possibly be real, ydi for leaving a car in neutral and leaving the driver seat

this does suck because the hood on my truck has done the same thing but ydi for not checking your jeep was in neutral ...

64 if the car is auto the car's key could be in the on positon but not have the engine running for it to switch gears. but yea the op is either a liar or an idiot. jeez ppl

...this makes no sense... if the car was in neutral and on an incline then it would have already been rolling when he opened the hood... MORON
