Break up with him. Because then He won't have anything better, OR you. You deserve so much more than a guy who "settled" for you. I personally don't believe in settling. That is basically giving up an being with someone you don't love. If you love them, then its not "settling". FYL, OP. This guys wasted two years. I'm sorry. You're awesome, OP! Keep looking for that perfect someone!

It can be a compliment but the word "settle" is what makes it f***ed up. If he had just said that he cant find anyone better than u then it would have been a different story...

It's insane how all female commenters are the ones saying "dump his ass" this that and all the male commenters are saying that he truly meant that statement in a good way. Clear example of how girls manipulate men's words to make it seem like men are horrible pigs when in fact it's probably the girl that's not good enough for him. Sounds like a sincere statement to me, sorry girls but fantasy prince charming only exists in Disney, open your eyes and heart a little bit.

True, but based on their overall relationship she should've been smart enough to realize that words sometimes come out in a way that can be misinterpreted and that he most likely didn't mean it in that way. Not really an excuse to break up with him unless she truly didn't love him or he cheated or ****** her over in some way or another.
