Bad babysitter

Today, I was babysitting a 9-year-old kid, when she got thirsty and asked for a drink. All I could find was some kind of Mexican fruit drink, but I didn't realize until too late that it was actually hard liquor. I had to scrub her mouth out with toothpaste and put her to bed to cover it all up. FML

The next morning will be interesting...

That could actually be dangerous. You need to pay attention or find another line of work.

Lol you're not yourself when you're thirsty.

First of all, if you don't know what something is, don't give it to a child. Second, is there no water bottles or tap water in the house? I find that hard to believe

So because it's a Mexican drink it's spicy? That's a slightly racist and stupid thing to say.

come on OP, the spanish word for alcohol is alcol, it shouldnt have been that hard to miss

If she was thirsty, why didn't you just give her water instead of an unidentified drink?

I guess the kid can hold down liquor better than many people. But yeah I would tell the parents. What happens if she got alcohol poisoning? If you explain you they would be more willing to trust you. If you hide it and they find it... Waaaay worse

As someone who has been a babysitter for years, I'm struggling to understand why you didn't read the label first of all, smell it, or the most obvious thing to do...give the child water?!

You say you cant prove nothing but you just posted it to the internet so theres lots of proof now

You are an idiot and could have killed that child. Please stop babysitting and do the world a favor by not having children.

I agree that you should have: tasted/smelled it before giving it to the child-told the parents what you did &.....if you can't read the label properly...DONT give it to a child. You should have just given the child water. YDI, hope you get fired for incompetence.
