Bad mom

Today, my daughter's school called to inform me that I needed to bring her some sneakers. Not feeling like driving the 15 minutes to her school, I told them I was away from town. Then I realized I was on my house phone. FML

"I lied, just because I am lazy, but I couldn't even do it right." Oh yeah, obviously your life is terrible.

Mother of the year of the year award goes to... (drum roll) ...Not you, you lazy bitch.

omg i do that. but im not a mom and all. and its not school that calls me, lol. its friend stuff but really, are you the kind of mom that has tattoos all on her arm and stuuuff ? well, not that, yeuh.. haha i wonder if the daughter knows about this

What the hell do tattoos have to do with anything?! Some of the best parents I've ever met have tattoos and piercings! That was completely uncalled for!

Sounds reasonable enough to me, granted the kid is a teenager and not a child. I get calls all the time from my teenaged sisters forgetting stuff at home and i dont jump everytime they forget their gear for school, if they forget it thats their problem for not being responsible. Now if the kid is like 10 then the OP should make sure her kid is READY for school.

Wow, fifteen minutes of your time is worth more than your child's education...Awesome parenting.

Or maybe she felt ill? In which case, she shouldn't be on the roads. My grandmother is on night shift half the time, therefore is mostly tired for the rest of the day, and if I needed something, I'd have to go home at lunch to get it. Not all guardians can drop what they're doing to pull a feather out of their ass and fan their kids either, yet we don't complain at them. As a teenager myself, I know that the reason I don't get constant help from my family is because one day, they aren't going to be there to bail me out, and I have to get used to this fact. Calling the OP a 'lazy bitch' isn't solving anything. She might be a fantastic parent for all you know, who was just feeling a little off. xx

My mother got pregnant with me at 17, and I'd like to think I've turned out fine. I agree with Twinkle, when I was in primary school and I forgot my gym shoes, I did it in my bare feet, and I never picked anything up from the floors. If it was a major issue in your previous school, then there are quite a few health and safety issues which need to be taken care of. Also, no-one was ever picked on for forgetting their shoes, and it happened to more than one person, I can assure you of that . As I stated before, the OP could have felt ill or tired, in which case, driving would make her a liability to other drivers on the road, and you'd probably still give her the blame. You need to stop being so judgemental and open your eyes to different possibilities. xx

For everyone who still wants to sit there and bitch, Take a look at this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orl6vXPJAww Now, who needs help more? Those children? Or a child who forgot her shoes?

Ummm u know people can program there phones so any call on the house phone is directed to the cell phone, u should've said that was what happened.

My thought exactly. Still sad parenting though.
