yah...everyone and their mom has a degree in psych....not impressive at all....sorry.
Well, construction used to be a very highly paid job, mainly for the manager/owner/operator, however when the housing market crashed, so did a large part of builders/contractors. If the owner makes less money, there's less money to pay the workers.
You are not judgmental, and this is FML material. I completely understand, you just spent thousands of dollars on a psych degree, and you were not expecting to meet someone else with that same degree working construction especially since you never planned on working construction yourself. The people telling you that achieving a four year degree in this area is not enough have probably not even achieved a high school diploma. Forget them. Congrats on your degree. If you don't want to end up working construction, then don't find yourself a great job. You can do it!!
It's hard to find a decent paying job right now.
dude, you really need a ph.d for that to matter at all. also, who else thinks the guy told them that just to freak them out?
i like how you told us kate's name. ty for that info
Out of all the ppl in the world, do you really know who Kate is? --- You are such a tool. **** them all OP. Get a PHD if that is what it takes. Don't beat yourself up over this. You are obviously smart to obtain such a degree. And if you just got out of undergrad school, just don't listen to these ppl, they dont know your near future plans. You might already be enrolled in a program at some school. **** these people.
its because psych is the easiest college course therefore too many people are graduating from it then there are jobs available

Unless you're going beyond a four-year degree, psych is useless. This shouldn't surprise you as more psych degrees are handed out than any other concentration last time I checked.
You have to be willing to move where the job is. If you aren't willing to move, then yeah..you might end up there. I knew astrophys' and microbiologists working in an inking factory because they couldn't find jobs in the area.
