It's alright. My parents never told me how to spell mine. I just made it up and decided how I wanted it pronounced too. It's not a common name though. I've never heard of something similar to it.

My boyfriend has the same situation and name, except his name is spelled legally with two Ls instead of one. He just keeps on spelling it with one.

The EXACT same thing happened to me! My parents gave me a stupid, obscure Irish middle name with four syllables and it wasn't untill I saw my birth certificate eariler this year that I realized I've been putting it down wrong on paperwork MY ENTIRE LIFE. Social Security, insurance, driver's lisence, everything. **** our lives.
