It's alright. My parents never told me how to spell mine. I just made it up and decided how I wanted it pronounced too. It's not a common name though. I've never heard of something similar to it.

Same here. My middle name is Carolyn, but my parents always pronounced it "Caro-LINE" when I was growing up. It was the day I went to get a driver's license that I found out that I'd been spelling it wrong my entire life.

as someone with a name that even my own parents screw up on a daily basis, I sympathize with you.

Luckily you (or your parents) get to choose how to spell your name. If you spell it different to the way everyone else does then who cares. The only people who will know are people who have seen official documents with the correct spelling on. You could always change your name to change those if you felt like it.

i did it too. my middle name is lucille but i always thought it was lucielle, especially cuz my first name has enne and so does my mom's and my sister's middle name too so i thought it went with the theme

I'm a 24 year old woman who still has doubts if she's spelling her mother's name correctly. I once asked her, and she just looked at me and said "you don't know how to spell my name by now?!" Well, no... I checked multiple pieces of mail, and they had all spelled her name either with or without an extra E... 'Beverly' or 'Beverley'... I do the latter, and at a quarter of a century into the game... I could care less...

Actually I found out my middle name is a boys name some years ago. Renè(boy)/Renee(girl) a unisex name apparantly, but it has two ways of spelling it. I am a girl and I have the boyversion middlename. And my parents didnt know untill now, they took it from my father...

my friend has been mis-spelling her middle name too. her middle name is danielle, and she's been spelling it as dannielle. she says she would change it on her facebook profile, but she's afraid of people noticingand taking the piss XD

Didnt your parents ever notice?? Thats not good.
