Brain freeze

Today, I was babysitting, and a little girl asked for help with her homework. I cheerfully began an explanation, only to freeze mid-sentence. I could not for the life of me remember how to do long-division. I'm about to graduate from Cornell University, and her little brother had to correct me. FML

Nobody above middle school can remember. You're not alone.

It's hard to remember information when you have had no reason to review it for years. Don't feel bad, OP. It happens to all of us.

That's actually pretty sad. Maybe a small review to refresh your memory now? I hope you won't just leave that gap in your education as it is!

Aww it's not your fault. After a certain age, long division becomes unnecessary what with allowance of calculators and how calculators exist in normal daily life. And mental arithmetic.

If it ain't got numbers in it, i can do the math...

I like how because you're from Cornell you think you should be smarter than someone who isn't. Very classy

It's because they stop teaching math without calculators.

hopefully its not a scholarship! our taxes pay for that shit

I had this same thing happen to me with my niece. Don't worry. It happens to the best of us.

Stop hating on Cornell, I just graduated from there. >:( (the thing is, if you're in A&S you have at least one required math class. Did you take that freshman year?)
