I think the real "FYL" is the fact you think talking to someone online for over a year is classed as "dating". The fact it was in fact a teenage boy is not surprising, people actually worth dating tend to do it in the outside world...

Dating online can work. Worked for me. But for gods sake, use common sense. I highly doubt he was so thorough as to completely fool you. There were probably lots of signs, you're just dense.

go out to a bar and date like normal people and then you wouldn't be in this mess. stupid

Dating online is lame enough (with seemingly no intention to actually meet or your thousands of miles apart so you can't), but the fact you never audibly spoke a word to eachother or saw a single picture is even worse. I guess he could have shown you pictures of some other girl, but I mean, webcams are built into alot of computers, same with microphones, how could you go a year without knowing? "hey baby... wanna say goodnight on the phone for our 6 monthiversary?" 14 year old - "no no... I don't want to rush things you know honey?" "I understand babe, were both still so young in our mid 20s sitting in front of our computers, why rush the heavy stuff?" 14 year old - "yeah, young, you have no idea :)" "ok, goodnight, XOXO Hugzors!! Catch you on WoW tomorrow?" 14 year old - "yah lol byez!" *logs off and busts up laughing* "what a loser!"

im with #6, how could you possibly "date" someone for a year without even hearing their voice? im pretty sure a 14 year old boy wouldnt be able to put on much of a female act anyways, it would of been easy to pick up. are you a virgin?
