Today, my OCD manager sprayed my hands with chemicals because I'd touched the bin while throwing away a piece of paper. My hands are now covered in itchy, unattractive rashes. FML

OCD sucks. I can say that she really can't help it. I've been there, and everyone gets annoyed with me over my "quirks" too. I know it sucks for you OP, but your manager really can't control it. It sucks for all parties involved

Ironically, by minimizing all bacteria OP's boss comes into contact with, the less resistance her immune system has, so it is actually counterproductive.

That's why I don't understand over protective parents who don't let their kids play outside in the mud. It's good for them!

34--very true! I was like that, my kid was sick ALL the time. I finally started to control my impulses and let him get dirty and germy, and now he is rarely sick.

That drives me nuts. My playstation was on 14 hours a day in the summer. We called it 'outside'. Run around get cuts and bruises in the woods, eat mud pies and make other people eat them in turn... I don't get sick. Maybe two days a year. These days everything is sanitized and sterilized and parents try to keep their kids living in bubbles. And then wonder why we have these superbugs!

Acid? Liquid nitrogen? Both are effective germ killers. :-)

Your manager assaulted you. Is there anyone you can report her to? What kind of a chemical did she spray your hands with? Is your reaction an allergic one, or do you have chemical burns now. Whatever the product was there should be an MSDS that will tell you what to do, you might want to see your doctor.

I really hope you have an HR manager at your company that you can go to about this. OCD isn't an an excuse to cause injury to someone else. Even if she didn't know it would hurt you she still had no right to do that.
