Dared

Today, I was dared to stand and hold a sign saying, "Free Hugs." This girl I'd never seen before gave me a crushing hug and cried hysterically on my shoulder in the blazing afternoon sun. I couldn't get her off. FML

You made someone’s day. There are days where people just need another human to appear as they give a damn. The free hugs thing has helped a lot of people. Be happy you made a difference. And yes, I do feel your pain of that awkwardness. This summer, I handed a homeless guy a bottle of cold Gatorade and a sandwich leaving a store. Same reaction. When it’s a stranger, it is very weird to have someone have a breakdown on you like that.

You’re holding a sign that says “free hugs” and you’re complaining that a girl is hugging you? **** HER LIFE...

This is what happens when you only pretend to be a caring person but then someone mistakes you for being genuinely kind. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

How embarrassing that you couldn't get out of the dare

Couldn't get her off huh? Is that a common problem for you?

A lot of LGBTQIA+ people when they see free hugs accept them gladly because they aren't accepted by the world or family. My amazing mother did this at pride this year and it was beautiful and so sad because many people told us their stories and cried hugging her.

guess you wont be taking that dare anymore
