Doggy dog world

Today, I bought some bitter-apple spray to stop my puppy chewing on everything. Later, I found out how effective it was, when I tried to eat a sandwich, and gagged at the horrifying taste on my hands. My dog seems unaffected, and continues to chew the table legs. FML

All puppies go through a chewing phase. It's really simple. Buy a puppy playpen, they come in all sorts of sizes, a cheap area rug that covers the floor space under the playpen, so if he gets a taste for carpet, it won't be your good flooring, and lots of chewy toys. Something mine loved is when I took one the kind you put treats in, filled it with peanut butter, and froze it

Agreed. OP should get their puppy some toys or rawhides and have it chew on those instead. That's what worked for all 3 of my dogs.

That sounds like the same reaction you would get with that stuff they make for people who bite their nails. I would say since they eat poop--bitter tasting stuff wouldn't affect them any! As a side note, I have a huge puppy. An American Staffordshire Terrier (it's in bt a pit bull and a boxer). Anyways, in order to keep her from chewing on my furniture--I buy her packages of rawhide bones that keeps her busy for hours and gets her baby need for chewing out of the way! Check in to them...if you have a Target they are about $7.99!!

Use some vaporub for your dog and you'll see how effective it is!

That stuff doesn't work! I wasted money on it, also. They eventually stop chewing. It tastes terrible & burns!

1.Wash your hands after using such a product and 2.Maybe if that doesn't work find something else?

my dog did that ... but we used hot sauce. she no longer chews on chairs legs
