Doggy dog world

Today, I bought some bitter-apple spray to stop my puppy chewing on everything. Later, I found out how effective it was, when I tried to eat a sandwich, and gagged at the horrifying taste on my hands. My dog seems unaffected, and continues to chew the table legs. FML

At least the furniture comes with extra flavouring?

My dog did that too just put jalepeno pepper on it and it will stop him

Before the Bitter Apple is effective, you have to do a "sensory overload." That means (as cruel as it sounds) spray a quick blast in the dog's mouth and don't give them water for about 30 seconds. It's harmless, but it's the same reaction we have to a food once we've thrown it up before.

My dog had the same problem and the spray didn't help either. You just got to take action and lightly tap it on the nose whenever it does it again. Say no a couple times and keep repeating it. Worked for my dog :) good luck!

Try lemon or lime spray I found that sometimes if I have the spray to a dog at a young she they eventually learn to not mind it :(

I just bought some of that too for my new puppy and that happened exactly to me too! Haha if only it worked on the dogs!
