Today, after being diagnosed with cat allergies, I explained to my cat-loving boyfriend that the doctor strongly recommended not allowing the cat in the bedroom. At 1:30 a.m. my boyfriend got out of the bed to go sleep in the spare room because, "the cat is sad." FML

Never make someone choose between you and the pet they probably had before they knew you, and who will still love them after your relationship ends. Either take some antihistimines and deal with it, or accept defeat now.

That's pretty harsh but I wouldn't call this a FML unless he continually gets out of bed in the middle of the night to sleep with the cat.

obviously the hate-posters here never had a pet for years - if you did you would understand that a gf has no chance over the pet (nailed it #13) Grow up kiddies, he didn't bring the cat into the room so he respected the OPs wishes - YDI for thinking this is a FYL

OMG!!! That's something my bf would do (but in my case it's concerning a dog). We actually got into a fight about it and I threatened to put the dog outside or into a cage (because he kept jumping on the bed and leaving trails of hair everywhere -I'm highly allergic to animal fur.) and my bf said he was leaving me.

**** all ya'lls. I'd rather my GF be sad than my cat. for now at least. I mean, i got my cat til she's dead(which will be a sad day for me) but honestly, me n my gf aren't in a serious enough place for me to even consider if the relationship will even still be. so, that could just be the case. break up with him. obviously he feel the way about u that i do about my GF. find someone who will be banking on u being around longer than their pet will be.
