Enough is enough

Today, I was confiding in my grandma about how lonely I am and how everything in my life seems to be falling apart. While I was in mid-sentence, she rolled her eyes and made a show of removing her hearing aid. FML

I was like that for a while. My internet friends helped, you'd be surprised how opening up to someone miles away can help. They're really easy to make, too!

Is your grandmother by any chance Auntie Bernie?

Pretend to take out a hearing aid next time she needs something, see how she likes it.

Or put in earplugs. Which, as a bonus, implies you were prepared for her to bore you.

At least she didn't remove her shoes.

I would suggest trying to talk to friends who are closer to your age where they will understand more of what you're going through. You can find many friends online and in support groups who will be very helpful and understanding and maybe able to give you some good advice. Good luck OP!

Do it gramma style, shake that wooden spoon at her, she'll listen then, you always did.

Although this made me laugh, I do agree, that sucks! I hope things get better. Think positive thoughts!

sorry to hear you're going through that OP! But your grandma comes from a generation where people generally did not discuss things like that (not that it's really an excuse) so try talking to a friend if you can and if not therapy is nothing to be ashamed of either. good luck :)
