False flag

Today, after a broken smoke detector in my home caused the fire department to come, I got an angry visit from my neighbor who was upset because she had parked in front of a fire hydrant and got a ticket. She demands that I pay it, "or else." FML

Just ignore her, she can't do anything about it and it's her own damn fault

forward it to the fire department.... they'd have fun with the "or else" part

Park your car in front of a fire hydrant, set her car on fire, and get your money back.

Money back for what? I'm pretty sure OP isn't going to pay the ticket!

I see the attempt, but the overpowering sense of logic of mine points out the arson charges, damage to personal property, etc. Not to mention if she would then go and sue him... No thank you lol

Tell her that she's lucky that the smoke detector was broken, if it was a real fire the fire department would've broken the car windows to get a hose through. Boston Fire has done it.

Maybe she just likes giving him a hard time. Some women love that!

This 'or else' is an empty threat. If it isn't and she hits you something take her to the dry cleaners

Parking in front of a hydrant is a dick move whether there was a fire or there wasn't one. what's the worst that he can do anyway? report him or something..

Key his car. Flatten his tires. Sugar his gas tank. Start a whisper campaign in the neighborhood. Report every single infraction OP makes no matter how minor. An angry neighbor is a horrible thing.

It's obviously your fault, you should have been conscious of where her car was parked. You should have put that fire out yourself

She parked illegally so she should own up for her mistake and pay the ticket she so rightly deserved to get, so sorry she is bugging you OP

Don't you pay a penny! Obviously she didn't give a damn about anyone else but herself. She needs to be accountable for her own actions.

She's lucky it wasn't a real emergency. The FD isn't shy about busting windows or ramming cars out of the way. Oh, and they'll still give her the ticket. tell her to f off.
