turn in your resignation instead of the projects
There are two things wrong with this post.
you have to start learning to say "No"
Write the letter during break or when you are off. It doesn't have to be written at work
So if you wanted meaningful work and they now gave it to you, then your threat to leave was successful. If the other factors like the abuse are not mitigated by meaningful work, then don't do the work, write your letter, and document that you didn't complete the work after/because of your verbal resignation. good luck!
Resignation letters are meant to be written in your own time. Work does not have to provide you the time to write it, or search for another job etc...
Let me help you Dear Boss I quit. Feel free to cut and paste this on to the paper of your choice.
Just call your boss and tell them you're giving your two weeks notice or go in and see him, and tell him in person. It'd be a 5 minute conversation and that's still being nice. I'll admit I've never written a letter when quitting a job...honestly I've always just quit on the spot.

Just don't do them if you are going to quit than why bother.
If you're going to quit, write the letter and quit. If you do the work it'll be for no reason.
