Good girl

Today, no matter how many toys and teddies she has, and no matter how much I punish her, I'm most likely never going to be able to break my 10-week-old puppy's habit of stealing my underwear. She doesn't eat them or even chew on them. She steals them to sleep with. FML

Sew a bed for her using your underwear, and go commando. Problem solved.

Stop leaving your underwear laying around maybe??

It's where your scent is strongest.

aw... why would you punish your puppy for that? give her some and buy new ones for yourself.

We'll that means she always wants to remember you while she sleeps! That's kinda cute!

Why would you punish your puppy. She's a puppy and has so much playful exuberance. It's what puppies do. People like to control everything and everyone. Don't be so hard on the puppy. Maybe you should talk to a vet and get him to explain dog behaviours to you. Anyway your puppy steals your knickers cause it has your scent on it.

Take the underwear from her, put in something else, the same thing every time, with your scent on it, and give her a little bit of a treat (maybe a little piece of bacon and a belly rub). When she starts going to bed with the right thing, give her a bigger treat when she wakes up.

Dogs like things that carry a strong scent of their owners, that's why they take underwear and shoes. She is not going to like a teddy bear because it doesn't smell like you.

If you're not going to be able to break its habits at some point, then you are not qualified enough to own a dog.

Hey, at least she's not destroying them! My 12 year old dog still does this same thing with socks. She's even figured out how to open the drawer enough to pull them out. We just laugh at her and pick them up later.
